We are Closed

As of 4/17/20 both the American Canyon clinic and the El Cerrito clinic closed due to limited staffing availability. Our clinics are relocating to Napa at 2360 First Street and Benicia at 1387 East 2nd Street and we are hoping to reopen by mid-September.

When we reopen, our new name will be Urgent Care and TeleHealth. We are implementing new distance care options to safely and effectively care for our patients. Of course, we’ll remain available for in-person visits as well and look forward to serving the community as soon as possible.

COVID TREATMENTS ARE IN!

Concerned about a COVID infection? Come on in. We are happy to report that we now offer COVID treatments including Paxlovid, Pfizer’s COVID antiviral pill, Evushield for people with a compromised immune system and Monoclonal Antibody treatment here at our clinics in Napa and Benicia.

Paxlovid should be administered as soon as possible after an infection. We accept most insurance plans including Kaiser (during the pandemic).

Need a COVID test? We offer accurate and rapid PCR tests.
*At this time, we are unable to accept Medi-Cal, Alameda Health Plan, Contra Costa Health Plan or Partnership Health Plan for COVID testing.

Return to Work COVID Test: If you developed a COVID infection, many employers and schools now require proof of a negative test result to return to work or school. Many do not accept a home-based test. We now offer Observed COVID Tests with proof. If you have an at-home test, you can take it while being observed by a healthcare provider. If you test negative, we’ll send you the required proof to return to work or school by email. Simply schedule a telehealth visit to get started. We accept most insurance plans. We are also able to accept Kaiser insurance during the pandemic only.

Kaiser Patients: We are happy to report that we can now accept Kaiser insurance during the pandemic.

Walk-ins are always accepted for testing and other medical needs. Vaccinations must be scheduled through California’s My Turn website here: https://myturn.ca.gov/.

COVID Vaccine Boosters Available for people meeting the CDC criteria for additional vaccine dosing.

Confirm home COVID test results: If you purchased an “At Home COVID Antigen test”, please remember that the accuracy is unreliable if you have no symptoms. Urgent Care and TeleHealth carries the more accurate Molecular NAAT and RT-PCR test, that can confirm results of the Antigen test, regardless of symptoms. Moreover, our tests can be used for travel, healthcare facilities visits, etc. We usually can have results ready in approximately 4 hours.

We have a limited number of Pfizer, Moderna and J&J COVID-19 vaccines in our Napa and Benicia clinics and are able to vaccinate patients who are age 5 and up. All scheduling must be done by appointment only on myturn.ca.gov.

We have five different types of Rapid and Standard Covid-19 test options.

Rapid COVID-19 RT-PCR test (Self Pay Only): This real time PCR COVID test provides results within 24 hours and often sooner using our in-house lab equipment. It is also suitable for international travel clearance.
Send-out COVID PCR Test (Self Pay or Insurance): This lab PCR test is ideal for international travel, job & school release, nursing home visits or pre-surgery screening. Results will be ready in 3-4 days.
Rapid COVID-19 Abbott One NAAT test (Self Pay or Insurance): This rapid test provides results within four hours using our in-house lab equipment. It is also suitable for job & school release, nursing home visits or pre-surgery screening. The Abbott test may be acceptable for international travel but you must check with your airline or Country tourist bureau.
Rapid Antigen Test (Self Pay or Insurance): We carry the in house Antigen test for symptomatic patients who need to know immediately if they have the COVID antigen. Covid results will usually be ready in approximately 4 hours.
Antibody Test (Self Pay or Insurance): We carry the in-house antibody test for those patients who have had the Covid vaccine or actual disease and want to know if they have antibody production to the Covid virus.

*Most insurance companies have reinstated copays and deductibles for COVID visits. Depending upon your insurance plan, you may be responsible for your copay at the time of your visit. If you have symptoms or were exposed your testing is covered by insurance; however, depending upon your insurance plan coverage and deductible, there may be out-of-pocket costs you will be responsible for. If you do not have symptoms or were not exposed, and need the results for travel, work, or school release, then the cost is not covered by insurance and is out-of-pocket.

Self-pay rapid testing with Urgent Care & Telehealth is a fast, convenient option where you can register from your phone and pay in our office for the test alone. The test is performed by a medical assistant and you are not evaluated by a Doctor or PA. By scheduling a rapid test, you are acknowledging that you do not want to see a Provider today and you do not want to seek reimbursement from your insurance carrier or the government. You understand that services purchased today are solely your financial responsibility. We will not be able to provide certain information that some insurance companies require for reimbursement such as a diagnosis code or provider NPI.

NewMD is open 7 days a week to treat your health care needs during the COVID-19 outbreak

Effective immediately our hours of operation are 9am to 3pm 7 days a week at the American Canyon clinic. Please call the American Canyon clinic at 707-731-1108 for appointments or questions. Due to limited staffing availability, the El Cerrito clinic is temporarily closed until further notice. Patients can be seen at our American Canyon clinic. Please schedule online.

Due to a limited number of COVID-19 test kits, we are currently only testing patients who are considered high risk or require work clearance.

We are also able to complete a screening form for the county public health departments for patients to be tested.
