We also have discounts for people with FSA and HSA accounts.

If you’re from Clayton, you have a new and convenient option: you can have Doctor video visits at Urgent Care + TeleHealth. You can start with a video chat, get a prescription, and if needed, visit our clinic in person.

Lots of people find it hard to schedule doctor appointments during the workweek. And because many people want to see their regular doctor, it can be tough to get an appointment quickly. But if you need advice about a health problem, don’t worry – we’re here to help. You can talk to us today using a secure app on your phone or by visiting our clinic in person.

We take most health insurance plans, including Kaiser, so your video visits are often covered by insurance (though some plans might ask for a co-pay). If you’d rather pay without using insurance, we have discounts for you, especially if you have an FSA or HSA plan.

Video visits are a good idea, especially if you’re an older person who has trouble moving around or if you can’t take time off from work. They’re also a handy choice when your regular doctor isn’t available or if you have health questions over the weekend.

Clayton and Contra Costa County Senior Medical Resources

Looking for senior medical resources in and around Clayton? Here are some options.

  1. Senior Housing:
Diamond Terrace is an independent senior living facility with low-income units subsidized by the former Clayton Redevelopment Agency (now the “Successor Housing Agency”).  For additional information regarding the facility and unit availability, please contact Diamond Terrace directly.
  2. Community Resources:
Contra Costa County has a great section on their website with a variety of services geared towards supporting the seniors in our community. So does the Senior Care directory on the City of Clayton’s Website.
  3. Contra Costa County Area Agency on Aging (AAA):
Their mission is to lead in addressing issues affecting older Californians, develop community-based care systems supporting independence, protect the well-being of seniors and those with functional impairments, and promote citizen involvement in service planning and delivery. They identify services, coordinate programs, partner with communities, and seek funding to enhance and create programs. Click Here to learn more.

  4. In Home Supportive Services (IHSS):
In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) is the largest publicly funded home care program in the United States. IHSS helps to pay for services to eligible aged, blind and disabled individuals who are unable to remain safely in their own homes without assistance. Disabled children are also potentially eligible for IHSS. IHSS is an alternative to out-of-home care such as skilled nursing facilities, assisted living or board and care facilities.

WHAT KIND OF HELP IS AVAILABLE?

The different chores are assessed according to the needs of the individual. They may include, but are not limited to:

    • Housekeeping
    • Grocery shopping
    • Meal preparation and clean up
    • Transportation to medical appointments
    • Spoon feeding
    • Help with breathing equipment
    • Toileting or incontinence-related needs
    • Bathing and hygiene tasks
    • Dressing assistance
    • Medication management
    • Tooth, nail and hair care

  5. Senior Transportation:
Mobility Matters offers ambulatory, otherwise home bound senior residents of Contra Costa County free, one-on-one, door-through-door rides provided by volunteer drivers. These rides are primarily for the purpose of obtaining medical care, groceries, and other basic necessities. The Rides for Seniors program was added to fill a gap in services for seniors who no longer drive and cannot access other forms of transportation. Unless they are able to use public transportation, paratransit vans, or cabs that provide only curb-to-curb service, seniors often have difficulty in accessing medical care and obtaining basic necessities. In our society, mobility = independence, so without a safe and available alternative to driving, the end result for seniors is often long term institutionalization or deteriorating health.
  6. Health and Social Services:
Contra Costa County is the home for a vibrant and growing population of older Americans. Contra Costa Health Services provides numerous programs to address the needs of our seniors.

Testimonials

What They Say

"Fantastic experience from booking the appointment, checking in and being seen. The staff were friendly, efficient and professional. They were knowledgeable about current medical problems. Testing was done very quickly. The doctor was awesome. One of the best I’ve ever seen in my 75 years of life. (Mind you I don’t remember the doctors I saw in my first three years) Symptoms, history, physical exam and test results were evaluated quickly. Diagnosis was made, recommendations and medication given. I was assured it I didn’t improve in 24 hours to return. Overall this group would get a 💯 and a gold star."
